Mask Wearing for the first four weeks of Term 3Fri Jul 22 03:55pm
Kia ora koutou – hello everyone,
We hope you and your families have stayed well, or managed to get over illnesses during the holiday break. You may have heard on the news that the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health are recommending that schools implement students and staff wearing masks in Y3-6 again while indoors for at least the first four weeks of Term 3. This letter gives you more information.
At Whitney Street School we will operate as we did with wearing masks previously, in that we ask all Year 5/6 students to wear a mask, unless they have an exemption or you have given school a suitable reason, for the first four weeks of this coming term. Teachers and Teacher-Aides in these classes will also wear a mask.
In Taylor Hub with our Year 3/4 classes, the wearing of masks will be optional, but strongly encouraged, especially for Year 4 students.
We will also not hold any whole school hui in the first four weeks of term.
If you have any further queries, please contact Cheryl on 027 321 8022.

Kia ora everyone,
This is to let you know that unfortunately, we have many teachers sick with Covid, isolation, and colds/flus for the upcoming week. I have managed to get relievers to cover classes, and appreciate your understanding in these unusual circumstances.
The children are very resilient and usually cope well with change, however if you have any issues, please give me a call on 027 321 8022.
I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and managed to stay well.
